Perspective – Interior
Has there ever been a time when you actually wanted to dive into traffic? Well now it’s practically possible – and even perhaps earily exciting!
One possible design consideration for the beautiful towering bubble tubes, was to allow patrons to actually climb inside the tubes at the very top (with a safety gasket in place of course) while they wait for their turn on the dives or slides. But this was merely a whimsical designer’s brain clinking away and churning out fantastical ideas.
One of the major successes of this project was the partial visual connection between the comedy club and waterpark. Extensive design deliberation was required to work out the floor plan just so that this moment may be allowed to occur. The brick wall, depicted in the image, was intended to be 100% architectural and is merely “fo-chitecture”. The wall may actually be dropped to about 24″ above the stage floor to create a more spectacular visual. However, the higher opaque wall was chosen specifically because of that particular moment when one fully clothed person meets the eyes of a bathing-suited person. Pushing the wall up provided a familiar club aesthetic, and still brings that sense of the arches and bubbles into the night venue.
